QA1 Motorsports has released its redesigned K-members for 1979-2004 Ford Mustangs. The bolt-on K-members use high-strength low-alloy steel for reduced weight. The entire K-member weighs approximately 25 pounds, more than a 50-percent weight savings, including the engine mounts. The metal’s strength allows for a thinner walled thickness in all of the tubes.
The tubular K-members have increased header and oil-pan clearance for easier maintenance and installation, as well as a modular design with bolt-in engine mounts that can be easily swapped out depending on engine applications. The improved geometry makes the K-members ideal for street performance, autocross, drag racing, or pro touring. They maintain the ideal anti-dive geometry and reduce bump-steer issues with a selectable rack height and control-arm positioning.
