2018 Tesla Model 3 Battery Capacities Announced

According to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, the new Tesla Model 3’s battery packs will have capacities of approximately 50 and 75 kWh. The 50-kWh battery pack is expected to bring an EPA-estimated 220 miles of range, while the long-range 75-kWh battery has a claimed 310 miles of range. Tesla hopes to build millions of the five-seater sedan. Base models will be rear-wheel drive and have a rear-mounted AC induction motor and will accelerate to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds. All-wheel drive, which adds a front motor, is optional, along with Ludicrous Mode. Starting price is $35,000.
